I don't support his cause, but I thought this remark was telling: Quote. It was said these were officially tolerated in order to control it and keep other forms down. But the pink districts were meant to be a kind of tolerated "relief" organism.
This was told to me by Koreans a few years ago. Guess times are changing. I do think many of these places are having reduced spaces open compared to years ago.
I don't support legalized prostitution necessarily. But all the levels of governments should take these women who have been at it for a while and have no other employable skill and just give them a minimum income and then if they want to work at Gimbap Nara or where ever, they can just top up their income support.
